Hello classmates and Miss!
When I was in high school, I always wanted to study a career in the humanities. I liked pedagogy in history and journalism. I was a good student and people criticized me a lot for what I wanted to study.
At the end of high school, I decided that I wanted to study journalism. The main reason was that I liked the world of communication, reading and writing. I discarded pedagogy in history because I did not like the new educational plan that the Ministry of Education implemented. My family supported my decision.
I am currently studying journalism at the University of Chile. I decided to study here because I want to be a good journalist, such as Manola Robles. Also, I really like the subjects and what I have learned despite the pandemic.
I like my career and the impact it has on society.
Hi Isabella! It's interesting to know the reason why you didn't choose pedagogy, because i had similar arguments to refuse that profession. I hope that Chile in a future obtain a good educational plan, focused on the importance of history and humanist subjects.

It is very real that people are very critical of careers in the humanities, but they should not even have an opinion because it is not their life. And it is very nice that your family supports you, I am lucky that my family does too <3
