Hello everyone!
When I entered university, in the first semester I had a subject called "History and Politics of Contemporary Chile". It dealt with the most important milestones of the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries of the modern Chilean state and its institutions.
As I said in a previous blog, at first I wanted to study pedagogy in history because it has always caught my attention. However, when I chose to study journalism and saw the curriculum, I fell in love with this subject and I knew it would become one of my favorites. And I wasn't wrong haha. I really love history and the learning it gives you. It is also very important because it studies and analyzes the events of the past and then interprets them through various methodologies.
In this subject I learned about capitalist modernization and its consequences, the social question and the economic crisis of 1929, political and social inclusion in the Popular Front period. I watched a documentary and read two very important texts related to those periods.I had to write two essays on Latin American society facing the experience of modernity and another one on the constituent processes after Chile's independence.
I have to say that it was a very good experience, I honestly thought I only had to read to learn the contents. However, the teacher was very entertaining to explain the subject and used many visual resources. In addition, we supported each other and shared our knowledge.
Hi Isa, I really liked history at school, in fact it was my favourite subject. I really enjoyed it when we had this subject in the first semester last year :)

ResponderEliminarI liked the History subject for a long time, I liked it so much that I even thought my friend whenever they needed help with the subject. That’s why I also wanted to be a History teacher but I decided for journalism instead, so I was very glad that they had this subject in the curriculum.
